As part of the preparation of the beneficiaries to become self-sustainable, one of their summer activities is to immerse themselves in a Farm Exposure at Brgy. Palili, Samal, Bataan. This aims to provide beneficiaries a taste of life in the province by going back to basics; with no usage of technology, signal and internet. This gives them a fresh break from the life in Manila and at the same time, for them to also experience another familial environment in the farm.
6 beneficiaries together with 3 staffs (1 Filipino staff and 2 French volunteers) lived with the partner family of ACAY in Bataan for a week last April 29, 2019 to May 3, 2019 to have this experience. All together, they climbed the mountain everyday where the farm is located. There, they were able to make 11 broomsticks out of scratch, cooked with wood, eating with bare hands, acquiring food fresh from farm to table, cleaning the farm, bathe through small bodies of water and only pure nature.
At the end of the farm exposure, the
beneficiaries and the staffs also had a team building activity in one of the resorts in Samal, Bataan, together with the partner family. This is one way to reward everyone for the participation and hard work during the whole week. In the evening, everyone spent a special dinner with the family as an appreciation for the experience they have received.
