As part of Towards Self-Sustainability (TSS) Summer Program, School of Life conducted three-week Business Planning Workshop with Gwenaelle De Keyser, a Belgian businesswoman whose volunteering in ACAY MPI.
TSS Summer Program is a month-long event of School of Life where beneficiaries entering the second stage, Path of Life (POL), receive intensive training on leadership, personality development and job preparedness.
Now on its 3rd year, TSS introduces Business Planning Workshop to equip the youths on entrepreneurial skills that could ignite their interest in putting up their own businesses, whether small or big.
The Workshop ran for three weeks. On the first two days, Gwenaelle started by introducing what a business is, its myths and realities followed by the practical steps and tips to consider in putting up a business. A full-day ideation camp was also dedicated to give the beneficiaries time to create their own business ideas whilst applying the concepts they have learned in the previous days.
Participants were able to come up with Banana Cake Selling, Yema Selling and Juice Selling, products that are in demand during summer.
For two weeks, they implemented their plans with the guidance of Gwenaelle and the staff of ACAY and were able to sell more than the projected selling quota.
Business Planning workshop will end by 2nd week of June. However, the products created by the benficiaries will be carried over as part of their Income Generating Projects (IGPs).
Gwenaelle De Keyser is a Belgian national who has been working in business consultancy for over 15 years. Currently, she is setting up her own firm based in Belgium.
